Review on Meich Forstner Punching Drilling Counterbore by Wes Thao

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sharp Carbide for Hardwood

I bought these for a very reasonable price, I could use a drill press to add countersunk holes in harder woods like walnut, cherry and hickory. I have other inexpensive Forstner bit sets from Grizzly and other Chinese suppliers that are made of tool steel and have proven good for countersinking softwoods and piercing. These bits have very sharp carbide in all the right places to get the job done. They are good quality for the money. I will update this review when I have information on durability and longevity. As another reviewer pointed out, the drill head isn't as deep as my other sets, but I use a drill press and at least in hardwoods, I only sink a maximum of about 1/4-3/8"" so the depth heads are really small. Not a problem for me.

Pros
  • Forstner Bits
Cons
  • Some Small Bits
