Countersink OK. I've used a few of these on softwoods and they always leave a semi-rough finish. I tried slowing down the feedrate and got the same result. Part of the reason for the rough handling is that they don't match reality (a bit wonky on the drill press). I bought this set based on the customer reviews and the price. I didn't return them because they fit my "sometimes" use of the item for DIY projects at home. If you want or expect a better drop I would suggest buying a different set.
