Review on Motorad 580 212 MotoRad Thermostat by Calvin Hodges

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just what I needed to fix my '06 Passat 2.0t Great quality

After receiving a $600 offer to replace my thermostat (coolant temp if left open won't go above 165F and check engine light (code P2181) on my 2006 VW Passat 2.0t, I decided to do it myself. It's quite a labor intensive job for the average mechanic (took me about 5 hours) but it's better than a 600 Dollars to pay. Do yourself a favor and swap out the temp sensor while you make the thermostat, it's right there and you won't have to worry about it in the future. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this part, for one cheaper alternative than the OEM It looks and feels like OEM and not made in China but made in Italy.
