Review on Renewed Arris Touchstone CM8200A DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem - Ultra Fast 32x8 Gigabit Speeds (Black) by Candice Lohan

This is definitely a "used" unit with wear and tear all over the body. It also doesn't have the colored back that the CM8200 usually has, but is all metal (whatever, but that was pretty odd). Generally I cannot find this product on a regular basis and both Revain and Newegg only sell them as refurbished. Good. The weird thing is that a) it comes with a DirectTV power supply rated at 1.5 amps at 12v while the modem shows 2.0 amps at 12v while the modem is stable. Still weird. b) It has some very general, non-device specific setup instructions, just saying you are "connecting" the modem, but not mentioning the admin page at 192.168.100.1, which was important to me to get everything working on my network . c) It has two ethernet ports but doesn't mention why or what features these ports offer compared to a single port. It's definitely not a good idea to connect client devices directly, since it's just a simple modem and not a router (and doesn't offer the security and traffic filtering that any remotely decent router can offer). Overall it seems to work well, but the fact that the information is cryptic/absent made this a 2 hour setup that could have taken 20 minutes with the right guide.
