Review on Walker Products ๐Ÿ”ง 15502 Carburetor Tune-Up Kit by John Hall

Walker pays attention to detail

Bought for my 71 440 Chrysler with Carter AVS. Comes with a leather pump, three intake valves (including valve retainers) although you only need two intake valves, and connecting clips. Also comes with a mounting gasket/manifold base and a thinner gasket to firmly attach the carburetor to the manifold. What you see in the picture is what you get. A small cardboard ruler is useless, so use a cheap set of calipers and drill bits from a Chinese tool store in your town. Note that some dimensions for the Carter AVS are in 32, so drills and calipers. Spray the gaskets with WD prior to assembly to prevent the paper gaskets from sticking if you need to disassemble the carburetor in the field. Bypass the hot idle compensator (if your carburetor has one) by cutting another compensator gasket from the old horn gasket and leaving the center hole. They no longer make balance valves and it causes a vacuum leak when it doesn't seal properly that after 40+ years none of them seal properly.
