For the money it's hard to complain but indeed your mileage will vary. I asked if it would fit a 2003 Suburban with an 8.1L Vortec engine. I've been told this would be the case, but it certainly isn't the case. To make it work, I installed the pipe backwards (it sits too high and prevents the hood from closing the other way). Also, the pipe going in the right direction was at the wrong angle to get the filter into the heat shield. Area and brackets were approximately 4 inches from the point of attachment to the heat shield. Finally, the cold air intake is just a pipe with a filter on the end, and for around $50, it's hard to complain about that either. lot, I snapped off the soft aluminum mounts (you can do it by hand, no tools needed) and installed it backwards and it will work fine. Junk and won't last long. Also note that the tube is aluminum. It's not exactly a minus as far as I can tell, but it will be easier to push than steel tubing, and it's not a chrome color, it's a slightly brushed aluminum color. Might be great if you want to paint your air intake. Overall, this one gets it Air intake for the price only 4 stars. Having said that, I don't recommend this if you have the money to invest in consuming big brands. ANY major brand is going to be MUCH better than this thing. but when all you have is like $50, all you have to do is accept consumption. uh, that's enough.
