This is my first Dalstrong from the Shogun series and it definitely won't be the last. This is a beautiful knife. It is very well made and finished and just a delight to look at. But it's even better when you start using it. It is very sharp and works well for all general kitchen tasks. It's lightweight and maneuverable for things like slicing steaks, fruit, etc. It seems to hold the rim well, but I'm VERY picky about not overusing the rim. If you're cutting glass, metal, tile, etc. NO knife I've ever used can handle it. If you never sharpen your blade with a whetstone or diamond steel, you will NEVER have a sharp knife. The knife is NOT to blame. I own and use the Gladiator series and am very happy with it. This shogun knife is one step ahead. Excellent knife. Excellent price. A great company to do business with.
