Review on 🔧 Dorman 604-879 HVAC Blend Door Actuator: Excellent for Select Honda Models by Brian Campbell

Bought to replace a broken "Door Drive Blend" under the dash on the driver's side of my wife's 2006 Civic (located behind the trim just above and to the right of the accelerator pedal) . Although this engine block looks identical to the defective OEM I removed from the car and is physically connected to the same location, the electronics are not compatible. I hooked it up to the wiring harness, turned on the car and found that not only was the engine not running, but it had caused either a short or an open circuit in the A/C causing the fan to run at full speed. , and all other controls are disabled. I reinstalled the old actuator (broken shaft but electrically intact) and everything was back to normal. I compared the contacts on this unit to the OEM with a multimeter and found that they are not connected the same way (some contacts in the new unit show as short while in the OEM they show 960 ohms). Do not use this device when replacing the faucet door motor under the driver's dash. It might work for the engine behind the glove box, but I haven't tried it (and hopefully never will, haha).
