Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to install even for people with no experience.

Easy installation in my 08 Wrangler JK with original radio system. A few tips: 1. You must unlock the rear camera on your factory stereo. You can ask merchants to do it once for $120 after installation. OROrder an OBD2 scanner and download the OBD2 app. $21 for an OBD Bluetooth scanner on Revain, $20 to unlock the app license so you can access premium usage (change settings, clear codes, etc.). You can then go through the menu in the app and activate the rear view camera on the OEM radio.2. Use a set of 7/16 thrust washers to attach the mounting plate to the lugs. INSTALLATION1. Mounting plate with camera.2. Use 7/16 thrust washers on the tabs to secure the mounting plate.3. Route the cables through the vent hole behind the replacement bracket in the tailgate. Pop panel on the inside of the tailgate.4. The wire is pulled through a circular slot on the inside of the tailgate. Route the cables along the existing wiring harness. Gradually tie the zipper. Replace panel.5. Remove the tail light on the passenger side. Disconnect cables.6. Check the reversing lamp wire in the passenger's tail light with a tester or multimeter. The correct wire only has voltage when the vehicle is reversing. Mine was white with a gray stripe.6. Cut the excess red and black power cable from the camera to the correct length. Splice (or use the included taps) the red wire to flip the light wire. Black wire to black wire. Your camera is now on.7. Route the camera video cable along the existing cables from the passenger side to the glove box. Increasing zipper.8. Remove the center panels and a stereo system.9. Connect the video connector to the stereo with the wires offset to the left (the middle ones didn't work for me). Don't bother to tie the little red braid to anything. 11. Use OBD 2 scanner and app to turn on rear camera.12. Confirm the installation is correct by turning on the car (no need to start the engine), make sure your parking brake is on, turn the car backwards, the rear camera image should now appear on the screen . 11. Reinstall the stereo system and center console.12. Be proud of all the money you've saved and the confidence you've gained from doing your job well and independently.
