. The first pair improved my signal compared to the lack of external antennas. However, I needed a third one, which I didn't expect until I opened the case of the TrendNet TEW-818 router. The second pair has only two connectors, no rubber antennas! This required a refund and a reorder (pain). These small connectors, supplied with the pair, connect directly to the TrendNet motherboard, allowing for an upgrade to external ones. My router is AC1900 TEW-818. I only included the originals; there is no need to remove them. I will say that opening the TrendNet case is not for the faint of heart! You have to pry it open inch by inch with a small screwdriver and I doubt it will come back. But that's not a problem compared to the cost of replacing a router.
