Looks like I'll have some debugging time while waiting for the MKS 1.4 board with steppers, but at the moment I don't recommend this board, but I can't say I do the board was error. I solved two problems at the same time and one of them is probably causing the current crash. I had problems with an old board that didn't communicate with the USB port, so while I was able to print from an SD card, I couldn't use Octoprint or other systems to control the printer on my original E3p. Then, just after the replacement board arrived and before I could install it, the lever on my extruder drive clicked and the printer stopped pushing filament. I can't print at all without this, so I ordered a metal frame and gearbox instead of a regular extruder. Both installed on the same day, electronic steps measured and counted, all 2 print jobs picked up and printed out. Suddenly the extruder stopped pushing the filament. All connections checked, everything ok. I don't see any obvious problems with the new board (i.e. no sign of magic smoke escaping), just no movement on the filament drive (in either direction). driver) back to the printer and see if I can print again (I may have burned out the stepper motor after all, but that's unlikely). For me the board (assuming that's the problem) took less than 24 hours. Yes, he is silent, now for less than desirable reasons. And order Bigtree Tech MKS 1.4 with detachable stepper drivers. Since the problem may be my own fault, I'll only rate it a 3, not a 1.
