Peep peep! best parts

These "Sharptone" horns do a really good job of alerting the average clumsy driver to your presence on the road. I chose these Sharptones (yellow) over the more popular Supertone (red) because I wanted a slightly deeper tone. There are several comparison videos, just search "Sharptone vs Supertone". The installation is quite easy. Although the nuts that attach the brackets to the back of the horns are EXCEPTIONALLY tight as another reviewer noted. However, if you are careful and conscious in your actions, there will be no harm in weakening them. I've used an impact wrench with good results. I can't fault the product here as it doesn't appear to be designed to be loosened or removed. NO wiring or accessories included. You will receive two (2) horns and one (1) relay, nothing more. It's worth noting that they use MUCH more power than your average standard horn. You won't get the full effect unless you run a heavier gauge wire directly to/from the battery and relay (the instructions show how to do this). I would say 16 ga cable is the minimum, but 14 ga or better is more realistic. You'll also get better results if you connect the battery ground to these horns rather than the frame. Remember that melted wires are flammable; The standard wiring in your car is NOT designed for this. In terms of performance and looks, this is pretty much what I was looking for. Behind the bars of my STi, they look aggressive yet subtle. They are also EXCEPTIONALLY LOUD. My ears rang for several minutes after being exposed to the full force of these horns. To simulate an average distance on the road, I stood 20 feet in front of the car and asked a friend to honk the horn - the noise is UNBEARABLE, believe me. Finally, it should be noted that these beeps "project" their sound, similar to a loudspeaker. If you are anywhere but in front of the car, the noise level is average.
