I suspect these are not authentic Hella

I have installed Hella Supertone horns on several cars over the years. The set I bought from Revain for a "great price" broke down after only a few months of installation. I've just had the opportunity to remove the bumper from the car again to diagnose the horns. I hooked them up to one of my other machines that also has Hella horns that work fine. They only uttered a short cry and nothing else. From this I can only conclude that this is the case if the product is not genuine. I see Hella…

Nothing pleasant in their sound... But that's the point.

Installed them on my Prius today (no relay really needed). Tried them out in the backyard (stray cats felt the urge to urinate) and went down the fun route. A few hours later, I was stuck on a one-way street because some idiot was trying to walk the sidewalk in the opposite direction. Then he decided to turn left and honked his horn, telling me to move out of the way. He ended up getting tired of banging on the steering wheel and he rolled down the window to speak animatedly to me...then I…

Resurrecting the Walking and Driving Dead

Update November 2019 It's been almost three years since I installed them and they look and work the same as they did the first week. I avoided at least two accidents with this setup. If you get the installation right (with a relay and a direct connection to the battery post) you have something that makes a noise that needs attention. I've had too many calls in the parking lot and close conversations with people so distracted by their kids, phones, and general inattention. The same qualities are

Peep peep! best parts

These "Sharptone" horns do a really good job of alerting the average clumsy driver to your presence on the road. I chose these Sharptones (yellow) over the more popular Supertone (red) because I wanted a slightly deeper tone. There are several comparison videos, just search "Sharptone vs Supertone". The installation is quite easy. Although the nuts that attach the brackets to the back of the horns are EXCEPTIONALLY tight as another reviewer noted. However, if you are careful and conscious in…

Unsurpassed sound Hella

This is my third set of Hella Supertone horns. The first 2 were bought a long time ago to improve the sound of Mercedes and Land Rover. They were made in Germany. This set was made in India. Aside from buying factory replacement horns for a car whose horn sound you like, buying horns based on expectation of a specific sound or tone is actually quite complex. I love the sound of the Supertones but I knew that before I bought them. They really do sound like Mercedes Benz horns from the 1970's and
