We have a large forested area and animals move through it all the time, many at night. If we hear something out there in the dark, we want to see what it is. This is also necessary for safety reasons as most problems are caused by bipeds and not quadrupeds. We have looked at all types of night vision goggles and have often been at a loss because there are so many types and a huge price range up to thousands of dollars. Priced under $190, these Hudakwa goggles are a good compromise. They are solidly built with a rubberized body and water-resistant large buttons on the top that are easy to understand. The screen is large enough convex 3 inches. Remember to bring them up to your face so the screen fills your field of view. Built-in 4x zoom: When viewing, everything comes closer. Even in total darkness or starlight, you see what you see. Some night vision goggles say you can't see out the window with them. With these you can. At night, you see black and white in infrared. While we appreciate that option and the ability to use Wi-Fi to monitor and record what you're watching, we haven't used those features so can't comment on that. We got what we wanted - the ability to see what's outside in the dark. With the required 6 AA batteries (not included) you get about 6 hours of continuous operation in the dark. Of course, in most cases you only switch the glasses on and off briefly so that the batteries last longer. You get a sturdy branded box where you can store everything you need.
