These kettles work quickly. The capacity is 1.5 litres, so we'll have to boil twice to get two French press decanters (reg and decaffeinated), but it's still more efficient than a stovetop kettle. They light up like a TARDIS! No temperature control.; Water boils and turns off automatically. This is my fourth kettle. The one in my apartment has been working with normal city water for 4 years without any problems. I've now been through three of them on my farm, which is near hard-water wells. Caution --- High calcium carbonate water will wear them out after about 12-18 months of regular use BUT this applies to all kettles so don't buy the expensive one if you have hard water!
