Ok, it takes time to determine durability.
I hung LED garlands on it. They worked great and the setup looks a lot more professional than wrapping the light around things. I don't know how they will behave when hit by ultraviolet radiation. The plastic seems to last at least a few more years. I assume they also used stainless steel screws.
