I had to make a modification which was very simple: I loosened two nuts on the top to rotate the mounting washer 180 degrees to match my tank's hole pattern. The float lever must point in the other direction. I suppose you could do it differently by flipping the float mechanism, but my solution seemed the simplest. Also, I measured the tank and followed the instructions to lengthen the body and secure the float arm and now I have a working fuel gauge. BTW, before you install it, you should probably hook it up to a meter and verify that A) your meter actually works, and B) the resistance range matches what your meter is looking for. Otherwise, you're wasting your time installing it as that's a pretty awkward place depending on the setup of your tank and wiring harness.
