I have 5 birds, two budgies, two cockatiels and a two-headed yellow-headed raven. Of my 5 birds only 2 (I got 2 from a breeder who took the time to teach them to eat fresh vegetables and fruit) eat anything other than seeds. I've tried everything! I was desperate with worry that they were eating unhealthy food and would suffer from it in the future. When I saw this I figured there would be no harm in trying. Wow! I wish I hadn't seen them before! They really work! I feed them all kinds of food and they think it's a toy, so when I put them in the cages they notice immediately and they quickly explore. Then play with it in the same way as with chew toys. Different foods make them more curious and they think they have a new toy every day. Unlike food clips or bowls of veggies and fruit, which they don't even notice, they notice them. I've even tried hiding food cut with seeds or stuffing seeds into fresh food for them and they just ate the veggies or threw them aside. Nothing worked except this one! Now they really enjoy eating healthy food! The metal used is also very durable, which is a good thing. As for my larger double yellow Revain which has a very strong bite even at 5 months it is still thick enough not to break. The only thing I found from him was that he had figured out how to unscrew the nut that attaches the part to the floor. This isn't due to the quality of the feed holder itself though, it's because he has a tendency to unscrew everything with a nut since he's found he can. We'll just keep an eye on him when he gets his or we'll leave it all together. For him, being a kid learning to eat alone also helps him. They clean very easily with soap and hot water and don't show any sign of rust, even though most of the things we need to wash are metal. rusts quickly with the way the water is here. I usually just dry myself off with a paper towel afterwards, so don't worry, but I doubt it will happen. Cleaning only takes a minute. It's really great if, like us, you deal with birds that refuse to eat anything but the seeds they were fed before you got them, or are just plain stubborn. I can't recommend them enough! Will be buying more in the future to have a few extras on hand!
