My previous Diskstation was damaged by lightning. I was expecting to be able to migrate the data since the drives were idle when lightning struck. I made sure to call and get instructions and software to help me transfer my data (they helped me a lot with this). I moved the drives into the same slots on the new machine, launched their software, and when they told me it looked like the data could be transferred, I clicked OK and went to dinner. After dinner I returned to check the migration. This was done and the NAS was ready to use. I've been using it for several weeks now with no problems. I wish everything was as easy to port/configure as it was.
