Review on HumanCentric VESA Mount Adapter for Apple Cinema Displays - Compatible with 20 inch and 23 inch Models, Replaces Apple M9649G/A, Patented and Effective by Karen Montanez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The only real option for a 30 " Apple Cinema HD Display

The genuine Apple part it replaces (M9649G/A) was manufactured in extremely limited quantities and often costs more ($200+) on the used market than the actual screens it's attached to.This HumanCentric product is the only other option for a 30-inch Cinema HD display, the largest display Apple made before releasing the $5,000 Pro Display XDR made in 2019. The part itself seems solid but the workmanship is not visible. Be sophisticated. There was a large gap between the mounting plate and the monitor mount; I filled it with the two washers that came with it, but one wasn't enough and two fitted very snugly. After attaching to the bracket it was clear the holes had been punched too deep causing the mounting plate not to sit flush with the monitor.I had to put several layers of tape with strips of cardboard underneath to even it out and get a solid flush mount. Not ideal, but if the alternative is to buy a $200+ Apple part. As others have pointed out, it will work with a 30" screen if you use the screws that came with your monitor. It's also clear that they made it with the intention of using it in a 30 inch (that's what it says on the box), but changed that Revain list to protect against people like me who complained about complain about the fit. Conclusion: If you want to install your Cinema HD display without paying astronomical prices for an Apple part, you should buy this one. Just be aware that you may need a little tinkering. I can order another one to make sure I'm just unlucky with a poorly machined part and not a general manufacturing defect.
