GX Eagle - great new, can get finicky over time

This new cassette left my shifter like look new . It's about $83 (35%) cheaper than what I can find locally, so it was worth waiting for the 2+ weeks it took to get it. This was shipped from France which I think is one of the reasons why it can be sold for so much less than local retailers even with shipping included. I admit I waited too long to replace my original GX Eagle cassette (2100 miles) and in the end many of my shifting problems were due to worn condition (several gears had a shark tooth profile). I changed my chain twice on those miles and overall had a pretty good experience and will continue to ride with the Eagle platform. I can't comment on the entire GX system as I use an X01 derailleur and shifter with a GX cassette and chain. I can say that this is a pretty tricky 12 speed system that needs tweaking over time. The Eagle B bolt tool is absolutely essential, and unless you have the B bolt properly adjusted for play, you're unlikely to get the crisp, quick shifting you're looking for. Based on my experience with Shimano, I would say that if you don't have a mechanical shifter and enjoy working on your bike, although you do need a compatible rear hub, Shimano's new 12-speed system is a better fit. If you're already in the Sram Eagle ecosystem, you'll likely need to continue because of the cost of moving to the competition. GX is the cheapest Eagle cassette to use if you have an XD drivetrain, NX is made for older Shimano hubs. This is a bit of a let down when compared to Shimano as you can get their new SLX 12 speed cassette for around $100 compared to the regular GX Eagle retail price of $225.
