I see no point in spending a million dollars on this.

I see no reason to spend a million dollars on an X01 or XX1 cassette. This one is already quite expensive and I don't see how you will notice the difference when driving. Now switch GX vs. X01, that's another story. There's a big difference in feel between the two, and the X01 is well worth it.

Pros
  • Open Design - Helps remove sludge for cleaner shifts and longer cassette life
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Necessary evil when working with 12 speed SRAM

They are incredibly expensive compared to other brands of cassettes . So far I've ridden almost 2,000 miles with the original triple chain. The GX is a lot more economical than the X01 or XX1, but they're all ridiculously overpriced. If they had lasted 5,000 miles, maybe I would feel different.

Pros
  • XD Driver Body - Cassette driver body design that allows for a small 10 tooth sprocket and better interaction with the cassette
Cons
  • Some difficulties

GX Eagle - great new, can get finicky over time

This new cassette left my shifter like look new . It's about $83 (35%) cheaper than what I can find locally, so it was worth waiting for the 2+ weeks it took to get it. This was shipped from France which I think is one of the reasons why it can be sold for so much less than local retailers even with shipping included. I admit I waited too long to replace my original GX Eagle cassette (2100 miles) and in the end many of my shifting problems were due to worn condition (several gears had a shark…

Pros
  • Full Pin Technology - uses eleven lightweight forged steel cogs and one 50 tooth aluminum cog held together with high strength stainless steel pins
Cons
  • There are bugs
