Not strong enough for home brewing. I've already done two. Both are now reading LLL. I overexposed the first one by heating the torch because the cord along the kettle fell too close to the torch before I realized it. Second, the cable coating wears away over time from heat exposure and cracking. The outer sheath will tear exposing the inner wire, distorting the temperature reading. I tried cutting and splicing the first one and the temp gauge alternated between reality and the LLL error code. It will not last long over time in a brewery environment when submerged in kettles, mash tuns and fermenters. Don't buy a third one.
