They used to be very good - I had a few early versions and got more because I expected them to be the same. Unfortunately, the new ones are not the same. New models: - smaller - no mounting slots - one LED per port (combo link/activity) - no longer changes color to indicate 10/100/1000 Mbps (on/off only) - rear ports are plastic (no metal shield , shielded cables are useless) A big reason I liked it was the low cost for a fully shielded device. As a radio amateur, I like to reduce radio interference to keep noise levels down. I have previously found that 100Mbps comms equipment has problems at some frequencies and shielded cables and switches have helped a lot. With these new ones I have to be careful and find alternative ways to "shield" them as the cables no longer have a protective tab to connect to.
