The manual says to use the Hot Diode function to calibrate the unit according to the environment and when I do that the display shows a maximum of 999. Me switched back to IR mode and if I found a leak that caused the reading to go up half the scale, for example through the service port, when I returned to the same port that had turned off the detector I found nothing . Left the car unlocked in the garage overnight and did the same thing the next day. I also had a leak that showed up with the dye and the tool found nothing. I called tech support and saw a foreigner struggling to speak English. After trying to contact her, I quickly wanted to go to someone in tech, but gave up. The device will be returned and will no longer be with you
