There is a lot of information out there about using the speed square, more than just using it as a square. The guide is very helpful in learning the many tricks these little guys will be doing. Mine arrived without a manual though so I'll have to call and ask for it or I'll have to look online for features. The missing manual is the only reason for the 4 star rating. I use a spring clip to attach a larger 12" square to my radial arm table and use it as a stop for cutting short pieces. This approach is quicker than the two or three minutes it takes to set up a radial saw to cut along a built-in fence. This setup offers the "option" to trim your nails at the same time - NOT RECOMMENDED! I use a 12" or 15" piece of scrap and make a "bridge". One end rests on a piece of scrap metal, which I break up and close the blade. The other end rests on a piece of scrap that is slightly thicker than the workpiece. With my left hand I press down on the lintel to hold the work piece in place and with my right hand I pull the saw through to make a nice square cut. -Square I know it will...
