My 1999 F-150 short cab 4WD had 135k on the stock shocks so I bought them about 6 months ago. Drove it less than 2000 km and started hearing noises from the front. I checked to see if the lower shock bushing is worn, now it rattles when going through bumps. The shocks are also starting to rust (survived an Ohio winter) and are nowhere near as good as the original ones I removed. These Gabriels also do not withstand hits on large bumps. I have slightly oversized tires (265/75/16) but after the impact the truck shakes a lot for a while. They're good for normal driving, but will drive you crazy when you're out on rough roads. The only positive thing I noticed was the improvement in body roll. If you don't want to replace them every 2,000 miles as opposed to the 50,000 miles they say, replace your shock absorbers with stock Ford or better.
