I bought this little device to help a cheap laptop that couldn't take full advantage of my new home wireless air conditioner. First off I would like to say that the device itself works great - truly amazing with a 4x faster measured network speed now that it's up and running. But guidance? Let me save you two hours of your life that you will never get back. To properly install the device on 64-bit Windows 10 if your laptop has a built-in WiFi adapter: Step 1: Throw away the instructions. They are useless (and written for Windows 8 anyway). Step 2: If you don't want to use the mini CD driver installation CD, go to the EDUP website (www-dot-szedup-dot-com) and download the correct Realtek USB Wireless drivers for EDUP EP- DB1607 download. DO NOT install yet. Step 3: Disable the installed wireless network adapter. It is NOT enough to "turn off WiFiβ! You must completely disable the adapter in the network device settings. You'll know you've got it right when you run out of wireless options. Step 4: Run the driver installer (Setup-dot-exe). Step 5: Restart your computer to complete the driver installation. This will NOT install the Realtek USB Wireless Connection Monitor utility, no matter what the instructions tell you, so don't bother looking for a new program/icon after installing the drivers. (You didn't throw away the instructions, did you? That's why you're confused now. Consider this my "I told you soβ moment.) Step 6: Plug your device into an available USB 2.0 port. Now it works according to the plug-and-play principle. Step 7: Open Network Connections and enable the new wireless connection (if required). Step 8: Connect to a wireless network. -bit Windows 10 if the instructions were helpful in any way. Since they not only don't help, but give you advice that is the opposite of what you should be doing, I'm just generously deducting one star. And that's it - you're good to go. Run the speed test multiple times and impress your friends with the speed of your connection :-)
