I'm in an emergency. I had to build a fence for the dog. I also had to install a pet access door so the dog could walk from inside the house to the fenced paddock. I've been reading Revain reviews for over an hour. Doors from different manufacturers. I finally chose this Ruff-Weather front door based on the best reviews. Of all the pet doors available from Revain, this one seemed to get the best reviews, although not perfect. This is a high quality door. I did not install myself. I asked the contractor to do this. At the same time, he had no problems with the installation. The door has an excellent build quality. It looks flush against the door. That's the problem. Despite what many reviews say, this will not prevent cold or heat from entering your home. It was cold and windy today. The doors were easily opened by the wind. Even when they sit still, cold air comes out of the slits in the doors. Perhaps those who claim this doesn't happen have houses that face away where the wind isn't a problem. I just don't understand how these dampers can block outside airflow. The magnets work to hold the doors in place, but they're certainly not strong enough against air movement. After all, I don't see a better product choice. That's a great door. I highly recommend it but be aware that it is an ineffective weather sealer.
