Very good. It took a little practice to get a dog.

Very nice. It took a bit of training to get the dog used to this door and it took a little longer to realize that he was 'responsible' for the dog door and could come and go as he pleased. I work shifts so I'm very happy that he no longer has to hold his bladder for over 14 hours at a time. It's been a very cold winter and a tiny trickle of cold air does get in, but it really doesn't matter, and on days I'm not working I slide the plastic cover back into place and just pop it in the…

Great pet access door! Not the best weather seal.

I'm in an emergency. I had to build a fence for the dog. I also had to install a pet access door so the dog could walk from inside the house to the fenced paddock. I've been reading Revain reviews for over an hour. Doors from different manufacturers. I finally chose this Ruff-Weather front door based on the best reviews. Of all the pet doors available from Revain, this one seemed to get the best reviews, although not perfect. This is a high quality door. I did not install myself. I asked the…

It works after plucking the hair.

This was my first dog door installation. I'm a habitual person for home repairs because I can get things done better and cheaper than paying someone to do most of the work as long as I have the money to do it later. I tried that and ended up with a mess and broken blades. Use a professional saw with a carbide-tipped metal cutting blade (about $20). You'll get a clean cut in no time. (To be on the safe side, remove the door before cutting the hole.) I had a serious problem installing it. The top

The best door for dogs!

I wish my 87 lb Akita could go out in the garden so decided to go all out and ordered a door with a Home Depot pet door pre-installed. What mistake. Initially, the pet door was set so low that my large dog couldn't get through without crouching. And the damper rarely closes directly, allowing outside air into the barn and heated or cooled barn air out. In search of a better alternative, I came across the Ruff-Weather pet door. After reading all the reviews I decided to give it a try. Wow what a

Great quality, good guides, and an amazing user base to help you!

later We installed this dog door through drywall and plasterboard about 6 inches thick. Installation required the use of a wall tunnel kit, also manufactured by Ideal, and this kit contains materials that can be used to install in a much thicker wall. The door, as some point out in their review, takes some getting used to, it took our dogs, who are quite old fashioned, about 5 hours to figure it out. The older dog who has hip problems had some trouble getting through the double doors but is…

I got these a few months ago for my 11 year old German Shepherd Beagle mixed breed dog (approx 70 pounds) bought ). and 25-26 inches tall at the shoulder). He has arthritis in his elbow joint and arthritis in his spine which makes his hind legs a bit weak but he is still very active and walks well. I spent about 3 months waiting for my landlord to fix some back door and sill issues due to water damage. They failed badly and I was sick of waiting so I finally got it fixed last weekend. The…

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Benefits: Strong frame and flaps. Easily handles spirited dogs charging in and out full throttle many times a day. The locking plate can be used on both sides. So if you want your dogs to stay outside, simply push them to the outside door to prevent them from slipping through the doors, hitting the panel or injuring themselves. Disadvantages: installation in the wall according to the manufacturer's instructions - poor design. Your tunnel kit is a waste of money compared to the cost of a wooden…
