Screen freezes, radio becomes unusable

Please read the reviews and do not buy this radio. After less than a week of use, the screen is locked and I can't use any of the buttons, receive or transmit, or turn off the radio to reset it - the radio is now effectively useless. It seems to be a software issue, maybe there is a bad batch of these radios, or maybe they are all inherently buggy. I bought this radio to use in a remote location and I was completely disappointed, which is not to be expected from a reputable brand like the Standard Horizon.
