Of course I'm an amateur. But I've used countersinks with Vermont American before. Very good but they are worn out and the set screw on one of them has frozen. I bought this Dewalt without reservation. Everything I buy from Dewalt is of the highest quality. I replace them with Vermont American after one use! Immediately I saw the vibration of the drill bit in the drill press. Less wobble when using a drill shank instead of a hex shank. The hole will not be accurate with wobble (more than I would like). So I used a standard bit to drill a hole and then took the bit out of the countersink to create a footprint for a flush wood screw. The countersink wasn't perfectly stable, but it was usable. The only problem is that it crashed into the wood (high quality plywood) too aggressively and left a sub-optimal impression. I can live with that, but I'm not happy. I will not use them again. I wouldn't even give them to a friend because most of my friends don't use these things and it would be worse for them.
