Review on 🎧 Enhance Audio Technica ATH M50x Studio Headphones: East Brooklyn Labs Bluetooth Wireless Adapter Amplifier by Chad Jeffries

Revainrating 3 out of 5

When in operation, they emit a shrill whistle. They can be defective, but they also have soft keys.

They fit perfectly and have a physical switch which is always a major bonus. Pairing with my Note 8 was very easy and quick. However, that is where my praise ends. Initially, the keys feel soft and I had a hard time knowing if I had pressed them or not. The location also seemed a little out of the way, but that was something I could get used to. What I couldn't get used to was the screeching sound they made when turned on. In my experience, a Bluetooth device will emit a little bit of static when connecting, and this really isn't a big problem as it's usually barely audible. In this case, it was a legitimate high-pitched squeal, similar to the sound of a hearing test. It only plays when the device is awake, but it also plays along with what's playing in the headphones, which is also quite distracting to my personal ears. I've since returned the device and repositioned the M50x earbuds to keep them wired. Too bad it didn't work out the way I hoped, but Bluetooth can be pretty inconsistent at times. The only suggestion I'd like to make, other than fixing the whining (which could have been a faulty device), is a pass-through outlet. This would make them a must have in my book as it would eliminate the weird voltage blocking these headphones have.

Pros
  • looking forward to
Cons
  • sad packaging
