I had a squeaky door that was driving me nuts. I've seen videos online of the hinge pins needing to be removed and fully cleaned to stop the squeaking, but the last owner painted over my door hinges so I wasn't sure how difficult it would be to remove them. I have tried other oils to avoid having to remove the pivot pins. They may last a few days but the squeak will eventually come back as I don't think the oil has fully soaked into the cracks and crevices of the hinges. I didn't really want to use other lubricating sprays because I'm sensitive to smells and most people have smells. They also seemed to apply a little dirty. I bought it because I liked the thin applicator that gets into every crevice and it was advertised as being odorless and easy to apply. It just came in a plastic bag. As I said, easy to apply and odorless. It didn't leave a lot of mess. You basically just point the applicator at the spot where you want the oil to be applied, and the applicator allows you to apply a few drops or a thin layer. The awful squeak is really gone. The door still creaks, but it's very minor compared to before I applied the oil. hope it lasts It seems a little pricey for the amount you get, but you don't need much at all, and the thin applicator minimizes product loss when applying. I hope it lasts. This seems like a good alternative to removing the hinge pins or using silicone spray.
