Review on Belltech 6654 Shock Extension Kit by Greg Usry

Revainrating 4 out of 5

You technically increase travel, but that doesn't make your shock perform better. Actually steps in the direction of impact

Pluses - beautiful black color - coating - thick strong metal - fittings are also of high quality. thick and durable. Perfect fit, no frills. Cons - IMHO not designed to work with a flip kit. But it is so. (if your shock absorbers break enough) - not an extension but more of a "bump". I have no idea why they are called "Shock Extension Kits". You technically increase travel, but that doesn't make your shock perform better. It actually gets thrown to the side of the shock, away from the axle attachment point to fix the angle it runs at to get them up to stock angle before you go and mess up your truck by lowering lol. The drop kit kicks against the axle. back to create a better shaft angle, which in turn makes the rearmost shock (driver's side) shorter, and adding a "shock extension kit" shortens it even more. On my Silverado with a 5/8 drop, my driver's side shock travels 2 inches less than the right side, 14 and 16 inches respectively. I'm wondering if I should omit the left shock extension altogether. Hm. Can't say she's not fine. I would still buy it again. just share knowledge.

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • Vulgarity
