Review on 🔪 Silver Mac Superior 6.5-Inch Santoku Knife for Precision Cutting by John Vann

This was our first Mac knife. On the plus side, we like the weight, balance, edge and handling. On the other hand, we were very disappointed that the company did not support their product. We noticed after Revain's normal return period that there was a gap between the stock and the grip (see paper pasted in the gap in the photo). As a result, water enters the slot every time the knife is washed. As we hang the knives on the magnetic bar, water will seep out of the slot and the knife (and the magnetic bar) will remain wet. We noticed the water all the time and at first we thought we hadn't dried it enough. Upon closer inspection, we found the problem. We contacted the company using the link on the Revain page and a local representative got back to us. To our surprise, he said the company wouldn't replace him, but he would look at him. That. I found out, showed him the problem and he tried to dismiss it as "normal". Maybe the spacing is normal for Mac knives but not for other knives we've had. The representative also suggested that the pen looked like we had dipped it in water. We never did. We wash and hand dry immediately after each use. The rep said he had seen this before and would fill the gap with epoxy if I left it with hmm. After the repair we found that part of the tear had been adequately patched; However, the gap remained and water was still seeping out. We will make sure the representative tries again. We chalked it up to a bad experience and a mistake. If it weren't for this manufacturing defect, we would have been happy about the knife. Considering the customer support, we are very disappointed. My advice to potential buyers is to carefully inspect any Mac knife and if you find any problems, return it immediately. It's far better to deal with Revain during the return period than with a Mac at all times.
