NOT GENUINE MAC KNIFE

The item is not a genuine MAC knife. The blade was stamped Mac by Henckels - Made in China. All MAC knives are made in Japan.

OMG this is hard! As it really is

Comes in a nice gift box which I use for storage when the knife is not in use. It's incredibly sharp and a shape I'm still getting used to, so I don't feel comfortable leaving it on a magnet to keep my knives on the wall. So sharp your eyes barely water as the onion is already chopped and ready. This is an attractive knife. Quite comfortable in hand but I think my cutting motion needs to be adjusted. Would definitely buy more from this company.

Note the metal type of the blade

I've read on several other reviews that their blades rust quickly. What you need to know about knives is that they are made of different metals. This one uses, as the description says, carbon steel which is prone to rusting if not looked after properly. Carbon steel must be washed, dried, and then lightly oiled to protect it from corrosion or rusting. Without proper care, the knife will rust. Yes, the chip. It all comes down to blade care. For this MAC. If you're willing to give it a littleโ€ฆ

OK, but not great: cutlery and knife accessories

The knife is sharp and well balanced. The SK-65 model has a strip of unpolished gray metal on the sides. It has no Granton rim with dimples. This band is not stainless steel. I got brown rust spots on the first day of use. I left a dirty knife unwashed by the sink for several hours. When I washed it there were brown spots of rust on that gray stripe. This knife must be kept clean and dry. We recommend hand washing and drying immediately after use. The knife is sharp but the blade cuts easily, a

Nice In addition to build quality and customer support

This was our first Mac knife. On the plus side, we like the weight, balance, edge and handling. On the other hand, we were very disappointed that the company did not support their product. We noticed after Revain's normal return period that there was a gap between the stock and the grip (see paper pasted in the gap in the photo). As a result, water enters the slot every time the knife is washed. As we hang the knives on the magnetic bar, water will seep out of the slot and the knife (and theโ€ฆ

This asymmetry is easy to see

This is an overview of the Mac Knife B0006MM4REDThis is a knife with an asymmetrical beveled edge. This is for the right hand. Looking at various websites for sharpening asymmetrical blades, it becomes clear that special skill/attention needs to be applied to properly sharpen a knife. The total bevel angle (the sum of the bevels on both sides of the blade) is 45.5 degrees. There is no information about the right angle for each side. According to visual inspection, the bevel is shifted aboutโ€ฆ

Buy MSK-65 instead of SK-65

If you can afford the price difference, the MAC MSK-65 is a nicer looking knife and more capable than the SK-65. I wanted a santuko knife whose main purpose is to cut cucumbers. When I use my chef's knife, the slices stick to the blade and then fall all over the place. So I did a little research and found this MAC SK-65. Excellent reviews. I did a little research and came across the MAC MSK-65. I was wondering which one would be best for my main purpose and bought both! They are very similarโ€ฆ
