UPDATE 2018-05-06 Now that my machine is properly calibrated and I've done a few prints with this filament (205C worked fine) I'm glad I did My initial problems were with my hardware, not the filament. The thread is just thin. However, note that even though the box says Tianse, my reel says "TacTink" and not Tianse. I don't know if one of them is a rebrand of the other or something, but it was worth mentioning. --- UPDATE: April 29, 2018 The Z plane and this red thread was put on a slightly larger extruder, which no doubt caused me extrusion/connection issues. I've since corrected the Z alignment and noticed that the red thread is being pushed out and sticking to the first few layers as well as all the others. (including the printer manufacturer's proprietary filament) on this page. I haven't attempted to make large prints with this filament since set up (didn't need any color except for the accents), but felt I should update the review when I realized my initial problems were more likely a hardware issue were a problem. thread error. I will post another update to this review if I come across any more issues that I can directly attribute to the filament. Right now I'm printing in the fine print and so far so good. --- Check source -- I have many problems. Print with this thread. Adhesion is very poor, even with a heated bed (70°C) and a BuildTak plate to which other filaments adhere exceptionally well. Digital calipers measured this thread as essentially elliptical with dimensions of 1.80 × 1.65. The area is 2.33 square meters. mm. 1.75 rounds would be 2.41mm². It's a little lower. Visually, this small difference causes serious extrusion problems - fine lines and poor adhesion. I have to try some adjustments and comparisons, but so far I'm VERY dissatisfied. Note: Some people have observed moisture bursts/pops. I did not see it. Note: This reel was marked "TacTink" and 195-210C. The label on the BOX said "Tianse" and 195-215C. I immediately ordered a couple of Tianse filament colors - I haven't tried others yet.
