Review on Canon EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM Extender 1.4X Lens by Dimitar Serafimov ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

In general, it's pretty good, an equal number of pros and cons.

As soon as you take it in your hands, you are immediately surprised by its weight. You can shoot even without a monopod. The stub works imperceptibly and does a great job. Focuses quickly. Almost the same as 70-200. But slower than my 400 \ 2.8. Hole 4, with converter on 5.6. Which is dark. In general, the lens is good, but not worth a million. Pros: Ease of use. Light weight (compared to other super zooms). The built-in converter is very convenient. In this regard, the relative versatility of the lens. Cons: The main disadvantage of this glass is its high price. A mere mortal cannot afford such a toy. Not an unimportant drawback is the impossibility of crop. That is, the finished frame is not much cut. I compare with 400\2.8. That one can be sprinkled up to 1/10 of the frame. Here, such a focus will not work.
