Ever since I got it, I've been trying to increase the range of my RT-N66U "Dark Knight" -- I need to stream from one part of my house to another where I have a Vizio TV we like to stream in HD. I tried: 1. ANTENNA POWERED 9dbi Amped.2. 3 directional antennas ASUS WL-ANT-1573. Hawking range extenders, and none of them worked hard enough to boost the signal for anything to be seen, or in the case of the range extender, smooth enough that the wireless devices in the house didn't go haywire, constantly switching between two endpoints. I was very reluctant to buy an Alfa as the connection type documentation suggests it may not be ideal for the N66U nor are they powered so I thought the performance would be below par. it is a "minus" in both cases. They fit the N66U perfectly, no modifications required, just pull them out of the huge sleeves they come in and screw on. done. I'm glad I FINALLY found out about this issue. I suffered with him for a month and a half.
