Not bad, but not stable. Even for a little guy

Not a terrible mechanic's stool for the price. However, as a full-time mechanic, I found this seat to be of good quality but a bit unstable. I'm not a tall guy (5ft 8in, 150lbs) and a few times this thing has almost dropped from under my feet. This happened at both the highest and lowest setting. Colleagues have had the Torin Big Red stool and it is much more stable See photos for comparison, I took various measurements Below is a list of my personal pros and cons of the Pro Lift stool. my book tray is a steel tray, no plastic here. Cons: INSTABILITY - damn, this thing has a high center of gravity. It is very easy to lose balance at ANY height. Also look out for cracks in the floor of this seat. / The pillow isn't very thick. This one hits the ground, and again I'm not a big guy. It is also smaller in diameter than Thorin's. Wheels - Two starting to loosen after two months of almost daily use. Not a big deal but I'm wondering how long they will last.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Nothing
