I'm quite an amateur when it comes to playing around with my computer. FYI Calvin n' Hobbs was greatly appreciated. The advice not only updates the bios, but also includes how to do it. It probably saved both me and the company unnecessary extra work. Upon their prompting, I was able to easily go to the manufacturer's website and ask them to identify the required updates. I had to manually install a bios update, but it was easy. I already knew how to open the case on the computer (it's tight in my model if you don't know how to open it - thanks to YouTube for the help) and the memory is installed and snapped in correctly as it should have been at a glance. I closed the computer, plugged everything back in, and turned on the power. The desktop launched immediately and told me the memory had changed (hooray!), I carried on and in no time my little machine was noticeably faster.
