Have a 2005 F-150 with 175,000 miles. I frequently tow a 20 foot cargo trailer with a 1966 Mustang. The gearbox was never overhauled and had no problems, no other gearbox cooler was added other than that found in every car cooler. I bought this truck new in 2005 and change the sump fluid every 50,000 miles using only this stuff, never mix. The gearbox (4R70w) still works great, like knock on wood. When I change the fluid it doesn't look burnt or broken. Due to outside temperature in the 90's and plans to evacuate this weekend. I went with a deep aluminum sump that holds 3 extra fluid reservoirs and use nothing but this Motorcraft Mercon V spec. If you have a Ford and Mercon V is listed. Stick to the service interval and use this stuff. They will do whatever it takes to ensure it lasts a long time.
