I'm an artist who typically uses acrylics and watercolors in my work, but lately I've wanted to expand my variety and explore more mixed media possibilities without breaking the bank , you know how it is - just in case I didn't like it. These definitely surprised me! For the price they are actually very smooth and hold their edge well when sharpened. They're great for adding detail and are great for gradients because they're relatively easy to blend. They are very good because I have used chalk shaped pastels and it is difficult to get accurate lines on them for several reasons: firstly because of the size of the stick and secondly they are not as dense as these so the color gets everywhere if you don't very much watch out Accuracy is very important to me as an artist, especially in the style and type of art I make there is little room for error. I can imagine that in other art forms precision is not that important, but in this area it is. There is a lot of detail in my work and these pens are so good because you can add layers to lighten the color or you can use a light hand to add subtle color to even the smallest areas. It arrived on time, the packaging was not damaged in transit. As advertised. New in box, well made. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and will definitely purchase this product in the future to use in my art creation!
