I have used nozzle thermostats in various makes and models of cars for the last 15 years but the quality has dropped a lot lately. I ordered this exact one for my 2006 Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi to replace a working stick thermostat. The stock thermostat normally ran around 205-210Β°F. The jet was advertised and tagged as 180Β°F, after it was installed and warmed up my jeep got significantly hotter at 217-225Β°F. I thought it was a faulty product (which sometimes does) and I had previous experience with Jet products that worked amazingly. So I ordered a second thermostat from Jet as well as a Mishimoto 180* thermostat, this time I tested both before installing by placing a digital cooking thermometer in a pot of water and bringing it up to temperature. Mishimoto opened at the specified temperature, but the second jet thermostat did not open until 205*. Both jet thermostats were returned and Mishimoto installed. This could be a faulty batch, a design flaw in this model or a reduction in build quality affecting performance.* Temperature measured using a Pioneer W4400NEX with iDatalink Maestro with OBDII connector and readings on screen.
