Review on 🌽 Efficient OXO Good Grips Corn Stripper – Easily Remove Corn Kernels in Clear/White/Black by Beth Henderson

Corn stripper + grain collector!

I've always liked fresh corn better than canned or frozen corn, but boiling corn on the cob in a large pot and messing with butter and food has lost its novelty. So for the past few years I've typically used a knife to slice the corn on the cob on a platter and then cook them in a small saucepan. It only takes a minute or two to cut, but the occasional bean bouncing off the counter or floor and having to be picked up is annoying. Hooray for this amazing device that not only slices but also collects cores! I place a paper towel on the counter and place the corn on the cob vertically, then take the rounded gadget sleeve in my palm, position the blade about 1 inch from the top of the corn and press down and slightly towards the corn on the cob. . The blade cuts the corn from the cob with little or no effort and guides the kernels into the pod for picking. I invert the corn and repeat until bare (the pod can easily accommodate the size of an ear of corn), then empty the pod into the cooking bowl and repeat with the next corn. My fingers/hand are never near the blade while using it or when dividing the device in two for cleaning. I add some water to the corn, cover and heat on high for 6-10 minutes (depending on the amount and softness of the corn), drain the water, add the oil and salt and *enjoy*!
