Review on ๐Ÿš— ACDelco MU1473 Fuel Pump and Level Sensor Module for GM Vehicles with Seal - Original Equipment by James Auzenne

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well with one small issue

I saved a lot of money buying this fuel pump here for my 2006 Hummer H3 so I won't dig into it too much but - The old original fuel pump is holding up only about 3 seconds to reach maximum fuel pressure during cold start. You know, you just hold the key in the "on" position (don't scroll), and it takes about 3, maybe 4 seconds for it to stop beeping because it's reached its maximum working pressure. This new replacement pump takes 8 or 9 seconds of continuous buzzing before it reaches maximum pressure and stops. Nothing special, except that the result is that you can't just jump (in the morning) by turning the key from off to the starter without waiting at least a couple of seconds to build up enough fuel pressure to start. If you try, it will either just start up or stumble a bit and die. The first run of the day needs at least 3, maybe 4 seconds "on" time before the run, otherwise it won't work. I usually wait for it to stop beeping to KNOW it's at max working pressure and start right away. If this sounds like a problem to you, stay away from them. I personally think this is a fair compromise for a half price fuel pump (the dealer wants almost double the price for the pump alone). Factory specs, or maybe I just got one that takes a little longer. We'll talk for a few more seconds so it's not the end of the world, just worth attention in my opinion. There is very little pressure release after starting, so jumping and turning the key to start 2nd, 3rd, 4th times a day isn't a problem. Starts directly. Four stars.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some bugs
