This lightweight, medium-sized kettle does the job, and it's very expensive ($22.95 plus free shipping)! Take a photo below alongside common kitchen items for size reference. Bought for my younger sons first apartment. He loves sweet tea, but I didn't want him to burn down the house for leaving the kettle on the stove to boil. Pour water directly under the spout and boil twice and you have a gallon of tea. Water does not leak, boils in 2 minutes. In particular, you did NOT buy a glass teapot, so don't worry about broken glass if this teapot tips over. The retro look was a bonus for me in case my son turned it down (it went with it).
