Review on Flexzilla Retractable Enclosed Lightweight ZillaGreen by Radney Taala

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good tip would be to pull them out all the way beforehand.

Firstly, the idea of a flexible, retractable air hose is almost a dream come true for those who constantly struggle with hand-rolled, rigid hoses around the shop. This product is definitely a dream come true and has met all expectations so far. One thing I learned was to let the hose feed back onto the reel without manually feeding it. If I try to apply it evenly to the roller as it retracts, it doesn't quite come back. If I let it find its way back to the reel (by holding some tension on it instead of letting go of course) it will feed in evenly and pull in fully. Please note that in response to some feedback/questions I don't think you can increase the length of the tubing and still leave room in the case. Also, a good tip would be to pull them out completely before clicking on them. I pressed on it while the hose was retracted and then had trouble pulling it out. This only applies to the initial pressure and is not a permanent problem. ADVANTAGES: The hose is very flexible and looks like a well made product. It is gently pulled back and evenly returned to the spool. Braces/buttons at each end for a nice touch. CONS: It's advertised as a 50-foot tube, but you can only get about 40-43 feet of usable range from it. The mounting holes are not well designed in terms of installation. You can't remove the mount to install it, which means you're stuck with a little trial and error. The lock feature is pretty random. Sometimes you have to refill it multiple times for it to snap into place. The air supply hose is only about 3 feet long. 5-6 feet would be better.

Pros
  • EXTREMELY ROBUST - Made from UV stabilized polypropylene
Cons
  • Something different
