Review on 🔌 Kidde KA-F Quick Convert Adapter for Firex Wiring Harness - 6 Pack, Facilitating Kidde Alarm Installation by Mike Messerly

I had to replace all the smoke detectors in the house because the replacement was overdue. When looking for a replacement I found that the power connector had changed (probably when Kidde bought the Firex). So the new Firex smoke alarms have a different power connection and require either this adapter or turning off the power in the fuse box and overriding each individual smoke alarm (this might be fine for 1-2 but had to work with multiple and didn't want to) , especially when balancing on high stairs). So I decided to try these adapters. The adapters work, but they are overpriced for what they do (I think they should be half the price), and sometimes the adapter isn't that easy to plug into the old outlet. I figured the best way to do this is to push back the "fins" of the connector with needle nose pliers to allow the new connector adapter to fit. It frustrated me the first time, but midway through the job I had the system, everything worked, so I'm glad they worked the way they were supposed to. I would have given 4 instead of 3 stars for the installation if a detailed manual had been included. When the order arrived in the mail it was literally a plastic bag with adapters stuffed into a mailing envelope. There are no instructions at all. A little flyer explaining what I wrote above (the needle nose pliers trick) would have saved me a lot of time and trouble. And the value for money is 2 stars because they are overpriced. Many Thanks.
